Accounting Manager

This is a Full-time position in Grand Rapids, MI posted Today.

We are looking for an action-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee, in a hands-on manner, all activities of the accounting department, including budgeting and financial planning, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end closing, financial reporting, bank account reconciliation, daily operations, internal controls, auditing, and compliance. 

What you will be doing:

  • Direct accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax returns 
  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records, engage in daily bank reconciliation, prepare financial statements, analyze financial data, and create reports for stakeholders
  • Manage month-end and annual close process, continuously seeking to increase efficiency and shorten close cycle 
  • Establish, implement, and monitor internal controls, policies, and procedures 
  • Own relationships with external partners, liaise with auditors, financial institutions, tax and legal firms, and lead annual external audit process 
  • Lead budgeting and financial planning process, evaluate costs, revenue, and profits, and provide effective forecasts, insights, and recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and legal requirements

This is the right opportunity for you if:

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting (strongly preferred), finance, business, or related discipline.
  • You have at least five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
  • You are well versed in US GAAP and have a solid working knowledge of finance and accounting standards, principles, laws, and regulations.
  • You possess high attention to detail and demonstrate outstanding analytical skills.

    You enjoy rolling your sleeves up and diving in to solve problems. 

  • You are results-oriented and a strong communicator.

    You provide clear direction, drive performance, and continuously improve productivity to achieve goals.

  • You are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting systems.
