This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted January 3, 2019.

What are the details for the Winter 2019 Internship work term?

  • January 14, 2019 to April 26, 2019
  • Mon-Fri (regular, full-time business hours – flexibility of hours is required at times)
  • Intern roles are paid hourly by direct deposit – semi-monthly
  • All Intern roles are fully supervised and office-based

What’s the Corporate Finance team all about?
The Corporate Finance team is dedicated to being the ”expert consultants” to the business and it’s Leadership team on all aspects of financial activity for SDI Marketing in Canada & the USA – including A/P, A/R, Payroll, Financial Analysis, Month End and Year End reporting. 

What does a Jr. Accounting Administrator Intern do?
In our world, there is no ”typical day” (which is awesome!), but we guarantee you’ll be working on (and learning about) these 5 key areas on a regular basis: 

  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Corporate Credit Card Reconciliations
  • Financial Reporting
  • Payroll Administration
  • Month End Reporting

What will an Intern in this role learn? 

Corporate Finance processes.  Client Service.  Payroll Administration.  Employee Relations.  Month End processes/reporting.  Teamwork.  Fun.  Collaboration.  

What college/university programs are the best matches to this role?

Accounting; Accounting & Payroll; Masters Accountancy; Business Administration – Accounting.  Bachelor Commerce – Accounting.

What are the top ”must haves” for candidates interested in this role?

  • Recent graduate from a college or university Accounting program; 
  • Excellent time management / organizational skills;
  • Attention to detail; high degree of accuracy and confidentiality;
  • Excellent English communication skills – written and spoken;
  • Intermediate to Advanced level of Excel, Word, PPT and Outlook; (V-Lookups; Pivot Tables)
  • Great listener, fast learner, team player who wants to contribute/learn
  • Professional work ethic, responsible, accountable and reliable
  • Able to juggle multiple projects and responsibilities
  • Great sense of humour

What are the ”nice to haves” that will help set you apart in your application?

  • Some previous accounting and corporate office experience (either full-time OR co-op placements);
