Medical Director

The Medical Director, Canada, will be responsible for helping to build the profile, exposure and acceptance of Teladoc Health in the medical and broader community. The Board Certified MD is a hands-on role and will be responsible for building a network of physicians, managing and liaising with the Medical Advisory Board and managing communication with key stakeholders within the medical community such as the CMA, RCPSC, CFPC and the MCC. A key function of the role is ensuring our medical delivery across all our systems is at the highest quality. This involves designing and monitoring our medical quality systems and ensuring our networks and services perform for all demand. The role will also support our internal operations with clinical leadership and support. This is a permanent part-time role required to work 25 hours per week. The 25 hours can be flexible.

What You Will Do:

• Provide strategic and operational input to building out a virtual telemedicine product in Canada.
• Work to ensure Canadian Telehealth platform is compliant and relevant for the Canadian health system including a Province by Province strategic plan.
• Assist in the identification, recruitment and management of a network of physicians to be able to serve our telehealth solution.
• Provide leadership to a clinical team with diverse clinical background.
• Collaborate with members of the clinical team including treating and expert physicians, Medical Directors, Consultant Physicians and RN Member Advocates.
• Implement clinical quality control systems on Canadian medical service lines.
• Perform clinical reviews and case management of existing clinical information and provide relevant clinical insight to assist in proper management of cases. These activities will involve the review and interpretation of primary medical documents including office notes, laboratory data, radiographic studies, pathology reports etc and reviewing Clinical Summaries and Expert Reports.
• Communicate clinical report findings with all necessary parties to ensure member satisfaction at the highest level.Identify and position Teladoc Health within appropriate government bodies such as the Medical Council of Canada.
• Work with key stakeholders in medical community such as the Canadian Medical Association, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the College of Family Physicians of Canada to generate awareness of Teladoc Health programs.
• Develop a strategy for conference attendance at major medical meetings.
• Support Sales and Client Management in articulating our value message to new and existing clients.Other duties, as directed.

What You Will Bring:

• Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice or Emergency Medicine.
• Canadian Licensure in Good Standing.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of clinical practice experience.
• Experience managing networks of physicians.
• Proven passion for clinical excellence and ability to inspire staff on all levels as to the importance of exemplary care.
• Proven ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple clinical and administrative responsibilities.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that other departments and services are well supported by clinical leadership.
• Established networks in medical community.
