Intelligent Layering® opens metal 3D printing to most of the industries that can’t afford today’s expensive options.Leveraging its unique technology as a parts supplier, 3DEO sells high-volume, high-value metal parts to manufacturers with a variety of applications across a wide range of industries. Reports to: Chief Technology OfficerWe are looking for a passionate, motivated and innovative individual that’s looking to make an impact in a highly-skilled, core technology team through strong mechanical engineering talent.

Our current intelligence core includes two Additive Manufacturing Research Scientists, a Materials Scientist, a Software Developer and two Mechanical Engineers.

As a key member of our intelligence core, you will help develop and operate a new wave of high-quality part manufacturing capabilities in metal AM.

This is a full-time position.The R&D Mechanical Engineer will work on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning. The goal is to design and fabricate mechanical components of innovation and excellence. Specifically, the R&D Mechanical Engineer will:Rapidly design systems, sub-systems and components that meet needs and requirementsConduct experiments methodically, analyze data, interpret results, take evidence-based action Test and evaluate fundamental conceptsIdentify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problemsMachine & 3D Printing process developmentSTL & CAD file handling, fixing, editingMachine Operations: part printing, maintenanceEngage in lifelong learning and develop new methodsPrepare product reports and documentationQualifications & ExperienceAn undergraduate mechanical engineering degree is required and a master’s degree is a plus. The mechanical engineer should have at least 2-4 years of experience, including: Passion for learning and for conquering challenging problems Proven working experience in mechanical engineeringHands-on experience with computer-aided SolidWorksExperience with STL models – handling, measuring, editing, mesh fixingHands-on experience in general (Hands-on experience in 3D printing is a plus)Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.Creativity and analytical skillsAbility to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable mannerTechnical writing skillsExperience with Arduino microcontrollers would be a considered a huge plusPersonal CharacteristicsAchievement Orientation High energy, results-driven, determined, and flexible, with a strong and disciplined work ethic.
