Job DescriptionMathnasium seeks a Director of Human Resources who will actively support its aggressive growth strategy through management of human resources and all employment law issues for the corporate offices and its overall commitment to K-12 math education globally.Qualifications & ExperienceThe successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to:Build relationships with colleagues and industry professionalsAssist General Counsel with all labor law issuesImplement an effective performance management systemDevelop and lead a Human Resources strategy for development across the entire organization in support of the firm’s growth goalsProvide thought leadership to business leaders on the identification and proactive management of Key Talent across the organization; support Key Talent in building their careers within the organization and support individual performanceCollaborate extensively with internal teams to provide direction, coaching, feedback and mentoring on the development, execution, performance and measurement of staffing program and overall team performancePartner with Marketing/Advertising to develop collateral materials based on a branding strategy that Mathnasium as an Employer of Choice, leverage talent relationship marketing that drives the development of a diverse talent rich pool of qualified and high caliber applicants (i.e., website development, e-marketing, and candidate communications); manage and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns to achieve Human Resources objectivesCounsel and coach managers on employee-related issues, appropriately investigate and resolve grievances and complaints, and establish effective mechanisms to receive and act on staff feedbackAdvise the senior management team on compensation-related mattersAdditionally, the successful candidate would possess all or some of the following:Provide advice and counseling on a range of employment law issues, hiring, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, performance management, leaves of absence and accommodations, wage and hour, internal investigations, compensation and benefits, privacy, contingent workforce issues, and immigration.Partner with the People, Recruiting and Sales Operations teams to evaluate and implement employment, recruiting and compensation practices, policies, and processes that balance legal compliance with the culture we want, and our employees deserve.Draft and review employment-related agreements and templates.Advise on investigations and respond to claims, demand letters, administrative complaints, audits, and other employment-related inquiries.Conduct audits, classification reviews, and support other compliance efforts.Assist in managing labor and employment matters, disputes and litigation, as needed.Assist in developing and conducting training and education programs for interns, employees, managers, and the People team.Collaborate with local counsel to advise the People team and management on international employment and immigration issues.RequirementsMinimum 10 years’ experience in a human resources capacityFlexibility to adapt and thrive in an environment that is constantly changing with an ability to prioritize and re-prioritize based upon the needs of the business.High integrity and excellent judgment, supported by a point of view that is thought out and communicated well.Ability to work cross-functionality with different departments to reach alignment and buy-in.Franchising or professional services firm experienceBackground in benefits and compensationHigh level of expertise with HR related technologyInternational employment experience is a plus global expertise: Europe, Canada, Asia highly desirableAbout Mathnasium:Mathnasium Learning Centers mission is to make math make sense to kids and, in so doing, build their confidence and a deep understanding and lifelong love of mathematics.
