Primary Location: 6305 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta, GA, USADivision: Cox Communications IncJob Level: Individual ContributorTravel: NoSchedule: Full-timeShift: Day JobRequisition Number: 206223The Netcool Software Engineer Level II is responsible for hands on development as well as providing operational support for the platform to ensure high availability.

The candidate should have experience with administering and maintaining an enterprise deployment of Netcool and should be proficient in developing Netcool rules, tools, automations and Netcool Impact policies.

The selected candidate will be expected to work in a team environment developing and maintaining a multi-tiered Netcool solution with a as needed support shift schedule.Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Work with process owners and business analysts to understand the challenges that face Tier 2/NOCs with their handling of Network and Application Incidents that are derived from monitoring.

Recommends viable solutions to that improve the effectiveness of the platform that ultimately reduce ticket volume through alarm correlation.

Provides input into story sizing, backlog grooming, and release planning.

Provides and contributes to low level solution designs to support project and complex enhancements.

Performs data analysis, coding, testing, integration and maintenance of applications.

Assists in reviewing the current technical architecture, including design patterns and development methodologies.

Understands technical architecture and writes software that is aligned with agreed upon standards.

Performs trouble-shooting efforts and investigations when necessary.

Provides ongoing support, and maintenance of deployed products.

Actively participates in the engineering community, staying up to date on new software technologies and best practices and shares insights with others in the organization.Qualifications:Minimum: 3+ years experience working with Network Monitoring 3+ years with hands-on experience with Netcool Object Servers, WebGUI, Probes, Gateways and Impact or a similar product Knowledge of policy development using Impact Policy Language (IPL) or JavaScript for Netcool Impact or similar product Analytical and troubleshooting skills to debug issues related to the operations of a multi-tiered Monitoring Platform Experience with writing SQL and a good understanding of databases concepts, including language constructs, database versus table versus column, triggers etc.

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred: Hands-on experience in the installation, configuration and troubleshooting with Network Monitoring systems, preferably Netcool version 8.1 Experience with the development of event engineering rules and lookup files for network probes Proficient with tools, dashboards, filters, views development for Monitoring GUIs Proficient with designing and implementing automation and triggers within monitoring systems (preferably Netcool Omnibus) Proficiency with Unix Operating Systems such as Linux Experience with Unix Shell Scripting and Perl or Python Scripting is a plus Netcool certifications are a plusWho We AreAbout Cox CommunicationsCox Communications is committed to creating meaningful moments of human connection through broadband applications and services.
