IT – Support Specialist

SDI Marketing

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted February 8, 2019.

You are a passionate, self-professed “computer geek” who thrives working in a fast-moving, rapidly changing business and technical landscape.  You are naturally curious, patient, confident, proactive and have a strong attention to details, process and client service.   You have a high drive to learn, an inherent desire to help others and continually pursue ways to be more efficient with current technology and software.  You have strong interpersonal skills that give you the ability to build positive working relationships with everyone at all levels in the organization.

PURPOSE
Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, this full-time position will: (1) support and administer all internal program-related network servers, printers, cells, laptops, IPads and workstations for all SDI locations within North America; and (2) manage and provide support for various SDI proprietary software, including technical support and internal training. 


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide assistance with network, internet and router connectivity trouble shooting and admin support and solutions to internal and external users:  Print, File, Application and Web Servers running Windows 2008/2012, DHCP/DNS servers, Exchange 2010, Office 365, Mobile Device Management tools and VMWARE
  • Provide Help Desk support for all SDI employees, including after-hours support
  • Setup and maintain all IT equipment for internal staff (i.e. laptops, tablets, smartphones, servers, etc.)
  • Maintain ongoing inventory of all SDI assets
  • Setup users on Office 365, create email accounts on Microsoft Exchange and Salesforce
  • Contribute to the development, training and deployment of internal software applications
  • As required, follow up with external vendors/suppliers by phone, email
  • Update and maintain documentation related to assets, IT service requests, support procedures and other items, as required
  • Accomplish organizational goals by taking ownership for completing new and diverse requests and by exploring value added opportunities

SKILLS 

  • Proficient with Windows 7, Windows 10 and Mac OS
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2010, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Server 2008, 2012,
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Apple and Android products including laptops, iPad, smartphones and iPhone
  • Knowledge of Audio Visual equipment
  • Proficient computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, a definite asset
  • Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent client service skills and a great sense of humour
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills (French an asset, but not required)
  • Quick learner, detail-oriented with strong problem solving skills
  • Must be able to lift equipment, as required, up to 20 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Post-Secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a corporate IT Support role
  • Certifications such as A+, MCP, MSCE, ITIL are considered assets
  • Exposure to Active Directory environments, as well exposure to VPN networks is an asset
  • Home lab or test lab experience is a definite asset
  • Web development and web hosting experience considered an asset.
  • Reliable means of transportation
