Jr. I.T. Administrator – Co-Op or Intern – Summer 2019

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted January 29, 2019.

What are the details for the Summer 2019 Co-Op / Intern work term?

  • May 6 to August 23, 2019
  • Mon-Fri (regular, full-time business hours – flexibility of hours is required at times)
  • Hourly wage – paid semi-monthly by direct deposit
  • All of our Co-Op students and Interns are fully supervised and the roles are office-based
  • Site visits from Co-Op Advisors are welcomed!

What’s the I.T.” team all about?
The Information Technology Support team is dedicated to providing technical expertise and support to the Company in areas such as hardware, software and network administration. 

What does a Jr. IT Administrator do?
In our world, there is no ”typical day” (which is awesome!), but we guarantee you’ll be working on (and learning about) the following projects on a regular basis: 

  • Configure laptops, tablets and smartphones within a corporate environment (including within an Active Directory)
  • Support and administer Office 365;
  • Configure and administer Salesforce accounts/users;
  • Assist with network/web related tasks/projects;
  • Client Service
  • Administrative assistance, as/when required

What will a Co-Op student or Intern in this role learn during their 4 month work term? 

Virtualized environments. IT Asset Management. Salesforce.  IT Polices & Procedures.  Non-Windows systems.  New systems and technologies for special projects.  Client Service. Teamwork.  Fun.  Collaboration.  

What college/university programs are the best matches to this role/team?

Information Systems Technology – Co-Op; Business Technology Management – Co-Op. IT Support Technician – Co-Op.


What are the top ”must haves” for candidates interested in this role?

  • Must be either (a) a current Ontario College or University co-op student with a mandatory 4 month work term required for credit towards graduation; OR (b) a recent college or university grad; OR (c) a current Ontario College or University student not in a co-op program but seeking relevant, summer work experience;
  • Excellent time management / organizational skills;
  • Excellent communication skills – written and spoken;
  • Previous IT support experience;
  • Must be able to set up Windows computer from scratch and Install Windows applications;
  • Ability to apply new languages and technologies quickly;
  • Intermediate to Advanced level of Microsoft Office;
  • Great listener, fast learner, team player who wants to contribute/learn
  • Professional work ethic, responsible, accountable and reliable
  • Able to juggle multiple projects and responsibilities
  • Great sense of humour

What are the ”nice to haves” that will help set you apart in your application?

  • A+ or Apple Certifications
  • Active Director domain experience
  • Experience with Apple product support
