Principal Consultant – Practice Delivery Lead

Verizon

This is a Contract position in Cary, NC posted September 6, 2020.

What you’ll be doing The practice delivery lead is a highly skilled technology professional with expertise in Professional Services, Delivery, and Program Management.

You will be passionate about building world class technology consulting and delivery capabilities.

You will be a self-starter who will engage across Verizon sales, products, sales & marketing, and business consulting groups to drive a professional services and solutions portfolio focused on IOT, Cloud, and distributed edge technologies.

These technologies are strategically important to Verizon, particularly as we make large investments in areas such as Edge Intelligence, 5G networks, Software Defined Networks, Smart Cities, the Internet of Things, location based services, autonomous vehicles, etc.

Lead practice delivery program design and execution.

Lead practice delivery enablement work streams across verticals and technology horizontals.

Help drive practice business growth across industry verticals and technology solutions.

Oversee the high quality delivery of a variety of engagements with partners and enterprise customers.

Manage practice operational/financial KPI tracking and reporting.

Establish and manage relationships with key 3rd party system integrators (SIs), software vendors (ISVs) and services/solution providers (SPs).

Manage and maintain strategic relationships with other Verizon lines of business which may include Product Development, Sales, Marketing, Support, and Business Consulting.

Track and manage practice resources utilization.

Develop and champion professional services delivery best practices.

Support sales teams by taking an active role in contributing to account planning and pre-sales activities.

Contribute to the development of new practice solutions and service offerings.

What we’re looking for You’ll need to have: Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Six or more years of experience leading the planning, development, and program delivery activities for a professional services or consulting practice.

Experience leading enterprise level engagements/implementations.

Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have: Versed in Agile product management methodology and tools.

Experience with P&L management.

Products, technology, and/or solutions experience relevant to the practice focus.

Exceptional practice management, planning, and solution delivery leadership abilities.

Experienced in C-Level relationship building and management.

Exceptional program and project management abilities.

Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Experience in the Telecom, Healthcare, Retail, and/or Manufacturing industries.
