Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is currently seeking a Principal/Sr Principal Software Engineer in Northridge, CA.

Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available for this position.

Job Summary: Perform embedded software development for missile systems.

In this role as an embedded software developer, you will support design, coding, testing, integration, and verification of mission critical platforms, including vehicles, sensors, and/or communications.

As a team member you will be supporting software requirements development, software integration at both the unit level and systems level, software testing, and hardware/software integration.

You will be expected to follow a CMMI level 3 software development process, including documentation that supports the development process.

Job Responsibilities: Follow Software Development Plan Follow Software Requirement Specification Follow CMMI Level 3 software development processes Develop software designs using Unified Modeling Language (UML) Develop software and conduct code reviews Execute test plans and procedures allocated to software Perform software unit testing and hardware-software integration Interface with hardware engineers to address hardware issues Support software integration activities in the lab and in the field Interface with I&T team to support testing and analyze test results Support system-level verification and validation Participate in the development of design documentation, test plans/procedures, test reports This position may be filled at a higher grade based upon qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications: This position may be filled at either a Principal or Sr.

Principal level.

The basic qualifications for a Principal engineer are as follows: * BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics with 5+ years engineering experience * Current/active U.S.

Government issued DoD Secret clearance * Experience with C/C++ programming language The basic qualifications for a Sr.

Principal engineer are as follows: * BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics with 9+ years engineering experience * Current/active U.S.

Government issued DoD Secret clearance * Experience with C/C++ programming language Preferred Qualifications: * Experience programming for real-time operating systems * Experience with object-oriented design and implementation (UML) * Familiarity with standard software lifecycle processes * Knowledge of CMMI Level 3 process guidelines * Software testing/debugging in a laboratory environment Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
