ROLE Software Engineer, Color Scientist LOCATION – San Fran Bay Area TERM Full Time/PermanentWe are currently seeking a Software Engineer with a specialization in Color & imaging science to work for a global innovative cosmetics firm to develop an incredible digital technology that is coming to market You will be working with a fantastic successful team that prides themselves on teamwork.

As a Software engineer, Color Scientist, you will be able to hit the ground running, as well as be able to learn new skills plus grow and progress throughout the company.

This is a hands-on technical position that has a lot of room for career progression.

What the Software Engineer, Color Scientist’s Responsibilities will be:Manage existing color capture technologies used internally and enhance this IP as may be possible with new digital technologies coming to market.Design and implement standardized color management processes and techniques across brands and projects.Perform data modeling and fitting tasks to optimize color within various stages of color management.Design, develop, and test software for color capture, measurement, and matching services.Maintain the existing color development software stack.Own and improve color-related feedback for all custom and recommended cosmetic products.Compile and analyze data along with customer and internal feedback to inform core technology advancements.Proactively gather and analyze relevant feedback data from Sales, Product Development, Product, and QC/QA teams to assess and improve color development and operational success.Define intake process & procedure for all color-related tasks and projects.Work with Engineering, Product Development, R&D, and Manufacturing to develop and maintain new procedures around color measurement.Develop algorithms, procedures, and test systems to meet accurate color matching requirements.Manage project deliverables and schedules to meet commitments to product development and manufacturing teams. The Mechanical Design Engineer will have the following:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering field, advanced degree preferred.Advanced degree in color science or related highly desirable.5+ years experience3+ years development experience with JavaScript, C++, Python1-3 years experience with backend servicesFamiliarity with JSON and GLTF file formatsExperiences in color may have come from Entertainment or Display Technology Industries.

Expertise with statistical packages for data fitting and modeling.Excellent technical writing and English communication skills.A proven self-starter with a track record of successfully completed projects in color science in support of hardware manufacturers, software rendering, or similar.If you are a Software Engineer, Color Scientist that fits the above criteria, please respond with an updated resume
