As a GAMT Technician with PPG, you will be the backbone of the production team, ensuring that all equipment and machinery are performing at top notch!

Your work will directly impact people”s lives, ensuring that our products are available to paint the nurseries of new parents, to make residents of retirement homes feel more at home, and even keep travelers safe in the skies when flying to see family during holidays!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely maintain and conduct repairs on ”complex” electrical, electronic (AC & DC), pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, maintain and conduct basic repairs of Vacuum PVD and Multi-axis motion systems Complete machining-set-up and safely operate mills, lathes, press brakes, shears, presses, sanders, drill presses, band saws, and grinders Create simple reports and communicate using Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Supporting GAMT efforts through the entire Aerospace while expected to maintain and repair Sylmar based vacuum systems, UV Curing systems and appropriate Casting systems and their support equipment Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Two years or more in Aerospace industry Knowledge and experience in a maintenance, repair or innovative portion of the business Must be able to weld MIG & TIG structural (Steel and Stainless steel) only Basic understanding of vacuum sputtering or PVD processes and how daily activities and designs may effect these processes Ability to assist in process troubleshooting and implementation of methodology or technological changes to repair process issues and situations Assist with technology assessment, implementation, and enhancements Ability to actively assist in process troubleshooting efforts resulting in resolution of complex issues through changes in methodology, technology or execution Must be able to safely utilize all standard tools and tooling, machining equipment, electrical test equipment and fabrication equipment on a daily basis Why join us: With PPG, you will find meaning in your work every day, and engage in opportunities that will shape you, personally and professionally.
