About the Role Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Engineering, the React Engineer plays an integral role in creating and maintaining Business Wire’s multi-lingual, public-facing web sites, client portals, APIs and web services.

Using React, best practices and standards and working alongside developers, UI/UX designers, Product/Project Managers, Enterprise Architects, Dev/Ops and other teams, the React Engineer will help create complex front-ends, user interfaces and interactions for Web, Desktop, and Mobile applications.

What You’ll Do Write, debug, test, and document software for the Business Wire websites, press release processing, metrics gathering and reporting systems, client portals, APIs, and web services Collaborate with business analysts, users, and UI designers to jointly develop complex, mission critical applications Provide operational development support to the website support team Understand and apply software design concepts like security, availability, and scalability Provide accurate estimates of development time and aid in implementing business requirements for projects Write unit and integration tests and integrate them into the automated development pipeline Perform software and user QA testing on applications developed by Business Wire and partner development teams Promote user experience focused, test driven development What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a computer-related field 2+ years of JavaScript experience 2+ years of React experience] Commercial front-end web development experience Strong knowledge of basic web technologies such as HTML and CSS Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams Experience with web development languages, libraries, methodologies, and concepts such as: o Redux   o Node.js   o Server-side rendering with React (Next.js preferred)   o REST / Restful-concepts o CI/CD   o Functional programming   o Docker   o Unit and integration testing for frontend applications (TDD / BDD)   o Agile and Scrum Business Wire is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
