*Supervision Received/Exercised: * Reports to Plant Controller/ No Direct Reports*Job Summary: *The Senior Cost Analyst is responsible for reviewing and verifying the standard cost records.

Prepare variance analysis of actual to standard for materials, labor and variable overhead costs.

Analyze month-end inventory balances, aged inventories and determine related provisions if needed.

Provide ongoing support and reporting to Plant Management for analysis and decision making.*Primary Job Responsibilities: *Review the inventory standard costing information and analyze / verify to actual results on an ongoing basisCollect and review data to determine costing of raw material purchases, inventory, labor and overheadReview and analyze month-end inventory balances for Raw, WIP, FG and Pack for accuracy and reasonableness.Analyze inventory obsolescence and reservesReview BOM scrap rate %’s for reasonablenessAnalyze aged inventory and remaining shelf life—advise if provisions are warranted.Analyze inventory status—blocked, restricted, on hold.Review and analyze labor hour reporting by production lineReconcile employee labor hours between SAP and ADP on a semi-weekly basisReconcile temp labor hours between SAP and Labor Solutions on a weekly / daily basisMonitor both the frozen and current standards within the system.

Ensure current routing data matches playbooks.Analyze and monitor production line performances.Prepare monthly journal entries for inventory related adjustmentsPrepare PPV calculations and reporting for key customersAssist production management with assessment of “continuous improvement” projects and processes.

Measure and report progress toward planned goals.Work with Controller and Plant Manager to reduce production and overhead costsAssist Controller, Plant and Business Unit Mangers in cost analysis and researchSpecial projects as determined by the Controller and Plant ManagerAssist with the audit and provide auditors information as requested*Specific Reporting Requirements: *Weekly labor reportingWeekly material usage reportsWeekly pounds produced reportWeekly KPI reportingWeekly forecast reportMonthly KPI statisticsMonthly sales reportingMonthly customer PPV reports*Required Competencies & Knowledge: **Knowledge of: *Knowledge and experience with SAP*Skill in: *Proficiency in Excel (advanced skills), Word and PowerPoint.Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.Must have ability to effectively interface with plant and corporate office personnel.Strong oral communication skills required.Must be able to effectively work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.*Ability to: *Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Successfully multi-task.Ensure collaborative relationships with industry, trade, other associations, regulatory agencies and Hearthside staff.Write reports and business correspondence.Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.*Proficiency in**: * MS Office Suite, SAP, Oracle*Work Environment: *Work is primarily done in an office setting.Infrequent production environment exposure which includes noise, dust, moving machinery, fork lifts, and fluctuations in temperature.*Physical Requirements*:Sitting at a work station for extended periods of timeStand, walk, climb stairs on an infrequent basisMust be able to lift 20 pounds on an infrequent basis.*Minimum Qualifications*:Bachelor Degree in Accounting or combination of education and experience.

Minimum of five years experience with Cost Accounting in an industrial sector, preferably high-volume manufacturing.
