Big Plans.A small, specialty Biotech company in the SF Bay area has developed unique treatments for stroke and surgical bleeding.

With two products now on the market they have doubled revenue each of the past three years in the hospital and acute care market.

The growth is driving an expansion of the organization, which is currently less than 400 employees, and they are now adding a Senior Director of Marketing to their U.S.

commercial team.

If you are looking for a strategic marketing assignment in a nimble, responsive organization then this could be the opportunity for you.The role:Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Senior Director will develop and implement the peer-to-peer marketing strategy and medical education plans in the acute care space.

The lead product has orphan drug status and was fast tracked by FDA in the approval process because of its lifesaving capabilities.

The majority of product adoption is attributed to clinical education among Key Opinion Leaders.

You will create the advocate development and medical congress strategy for organization, and control two-thirds of the total marketing budget, including advisory boards and the Speakers Bureau.

As part of a small team of five marketing professionals you will work in a broadly-defined assignment and “wear many hats,” including strategic planning and tactical execution.

The first-in-class product has no direct competition, so this is a market development and clinical education challenge rather that one focused on share-shift.

You will develop product marketing strategies and educational materials focusing on key customer segments and medical societies including the American Heart Association and the Neurocritical Care Society.

The Director will also work closely with medical affairs, sales and account management colleagues to develop customer-facing messaging and materials that promote the products within the broader scope of corporate strategy.

You will conduct ROI assessment of market development programs to ensure optimal mix of media and geographical mix, and present to executive leadership on a routine basis.

Qualifications: 8+ years of marketing experience in either the Biotech, Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industry Experience developing Peer-to-Peer marketing strategies and campaigns with Key Opinion Leaders Marketing experience in the hospital or acute care setting is preferred Bachelor’s degree or better is required; MBA or other advanced degree in the Life Sciences is preferred The industry-leading compensation plan includes a competitive base salary plus incentive-plan bonus, restricted stock units and an opportunity for stock options.
