Business development manager


This is a Full-time position in Los Angeles, CA posted December 18, 2019.

JOB SUMMARY:The Business Development Manager will primarily be responsible for membership recruitment and retention, and promoting member usage of Biocom Purchasing Group’s supplier network in the greater Los Angeles Region. The Business Development Manager will work with Biocom’s Sr.

Director of Membership to develop long term relationships with members, industry leaders and to represent Biocom and the Biocom Purchasing Group in the Greater Los Angeles Region. The Business Development manager will assist with events, member services, and member outreach as well as performing their business development duties.

Key Responsibilities: Assists with Biocom and Biocom Purchasing Group sales efforts in the Greater Los Angeles Region.Drives member usage of existing Supplier products and services and products working in coordination with Biocom Purchasing Group Suppliers.

Partners with members to identify and evaluate Purchasing Group contracts that deliver cost savings opportunities to drive ROI.

Represents Biocom and Biocom Purchasing Group at networking events.Responsible for achieving budgeted revenue goals.Collaborates with internal sales and marketing teams to develop collateral to support sales and retention efforts.Leverages SalesForce as a key sales enabling technology and ensures timely and accurate updating of customer records internally and externally with Purchasing Group Suppliers.Other responsibilities as assigned.Education Requirement:Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.

Experience and Skills:Minimum of five (5) years of proven excellence in business development or professional sales.Experience in or selling into the life science market and/or experience with the L.A.

B2B market. Experience in both areas is ideal.

Strong desire to work in a fast paced team focused organization.Ability to manage competing obligations with collective goals.

Must have exemplary verbal and written skills with an ability to communicate descriptively or persuasively with all levels in an organization.

Ability to speak effectively in public meetings and make convincing presentations.Maintain a high degree of professionalism and credibly at all times. Proficiency with SalesForce or similar CRM.Must be able technically sophisticated and possess working knowledge of general office equipment.

Proficient with MS Office Suite products. Required travel: Regional travel and occasional travel to Biocom headquarters in San Diego.
