Regional operations manager


This is a Full-time position in San Diego, CA posted December 16, 2019.

A day in the life…Sugarfina is looking for an independent contractor to act as the Regional Operations Manager and primary liaison for Sugarfina in its 3PL production and fulfillment site.

This person would be expected to be on-site at our facility in Tijuana 5 days a week, relocation is not provided.

This will include managing day-to-day production, fulfillment, and inventory control matters and driving resolution of issues through superior operational execution and communication skills.

Collaborating with 3PL and internal leadership to ensure adequate resources and processes are in place to execute the work planned, and identifying contingencies needed to support forecast and scheduling variance.

Contract engagement and enforcement, leading and contributing to project teams, enhancing existing processes to facilitate service and quality improvement, and short/long term cost reductions.

Manage KPI’s, communicate performance trends, and identify operational risks and opportunities. ResponsibilitiesMonitor 3PL performance on-site relative to service level agreemnt (SLA) requirements.

Capture and communicate defects to drive improvement, protect the end-customer experience, and mitigate financial impact to Sugarfina.Administer all projects and documentation relative to assigned 3PL processes (i.e.

operator work instructions, production/fulfillment/inventory quality controls).Ensure local production/fulfillment quality and inventory integrity by installing checks and balances to govern 3PL adherence to Sugarfina policies.Partner with the Director of Quality and other stakeholders to ensure Sugarfina’s local operational quality requirements are satisfied (production, fulfillment, and inventory control proceses).Process Analysis – provide input on processes from a production, fulfillment, and inventory management and quality perspective.

Drive implementation of new processes.Assist in validating 3PL and other invoices according to work performed and established pricing agreements.Actively coach the organization concerning production, fulfillment, and inventory standards with key performance indicators, time studies, and standard work instructions/SOP’s.Generate, interpret, analyze, and communicate results using management tools, graphs, and reports.Investigate state-of-the-art process technologies and evaluate potential competitive advantage and ROI.Manage a variable workload to meet operational requirements.Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are fulfilled.Other tasks as assigned. QualificationsSuperior influencing skills, leadership, and time/task management.Must be able to speak/read/write in Spanish and English fluently.5 – 10 years of work experience leading in a production/fulfillment 3PL environemnt, preferably in an FDA-registered facility.5 years of progressive experience performing professional-level quality management duties, process engineering; preferably in food/beverage or logistics industry.Deep knowledge of principles and procedures used in logistics operations and practices.Excellent analytical, statistical/process analysis background with demonstrated ability in SPC, TQM, Six Sigma, and some simulation experience.Strong written, presentation, and inter-personal communication skills.Ability to build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.Excellent Excel and data modeling skills, open to application of new technology to existing processes and methodologies.Adept in negotiating with service providers, change management, and project management.Solid ERP/MRP systems background and operations technical acumen.

Experience working with NetSuite a plus.Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations/production management, industrial engineering, or related field. Physical DemandsAbility to remain in a stationary position constantly during your shift.

This position will be working in a warehouse environment.

Will be occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or otherwise move self in a reasonable way position to perform the essential duty.

Ability to safely exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work EnvironmentThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

The general working hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00pm.

Flexibility is a necessity as overtime may be required from time to time to meet the needs of the business that will require weekends, evenings, and holidays.
